Talking about guys
"Even if he is good and happens to know how to put his socks into the hamper, there are still a million things that you as a women will do. And he'll say that he's doing half of the housework."
Ummm... hello... If the guy is doing that, perhaps sit down and talk to him?
"Housekeeping should be an art." - Then it is an art I don't like. Perhaps decorating your house is an art, but cleaning the bathroom is just an annoyance.
I also made a note in my notebook that the girls seem to want to have equal pay, equal everything, but they still want the benefits. They want the guy to buy dinner even when they earn the same amount. They want the guy to do housework, but don't want him to get time home with the kids unless they don't want it. They really need to make up their minds!
My professor speaking about one of her old friends and how they knew each other... "We toilet trained our boys together. They liked to pee in the corner together." - Gives very little respect to the guy. Granted I point out that David is house-broken... but that's just because he knows how to wash dishes.
Oh! And one of my favorites for the class day... "If you want to question my authority, just raise your hand and I'll call on you." Ummm... then we're waiting for her authority to recognize us and then we aren't really questioning it. We're confirming it!
I also made a note that my professor did not know how to turn the class computer on.

Haha! "If you want to question my authority, just raise your hand and I'll call on you." I'm goint to use that one!
The sad part is... I don't think she even realized what she just said. :P She was encouraging us to question her authority... but I don't think she's ready to have it questioned!
But how do they justify this? The girls seem to want to have equal pay, equal everything, but they still want the benefits. They want the guy to buy dinner even when they earn the same amount. They want the guy to do housework, but don't want him to get time home with the kids unless they don't want it.
I think you see my annoyance fahle. ;) If they want guys to buy them nice things without them spending money in return... then they should get less pay! :P
Hmm, I see.
How much of that 'extra' car and construction work is required rather than something you do becauase you are bored. Or you just want to improve something that is fine as is. :P
Also... who ends up cleaning up after you do all of those messy things? You come in with clothes all covered in grease. You track muddy footprints into the garage. I find that about 80%+ of boys playing with cars is just to play with them. Not to actually do anything productive. I don't expect a guy to clean up after my flower arranging. It makes the house look so nice! (ick) :P About as useful.
Oh, and I always take my car to the dealers to get it fixed. It is easier and is MUCH less likely to spend weeks in pieces when all I wanted was the oil changed. And meanwhile it is in pieces and you are using that as an excuse to get out of housework because you've just spent 50 hours changing my oil... :P (You have NO idea how many times I've seen guys do that... oil change = 15 minutes)
She has a really good point there
And AJO, you can't really compare house work whit the car and construktion stuff
How many guys do you know that change drapes? Or any other "girly" thing?
*grin* Given a choice I would pay someone to do the housework. Easily. It is something I dislike that much. If I ever get enough money I'm hiring someone to come in and do the heavy cleaning every other week.
Oh, and do you realize HOW much time goes into keeping house? It isn't just a once a week vaccumming. And perhaps the car would not be so dirty if you didn't spill drinks inside of it!
I find that in the long run it is cheaper for me to take my car elsewhere. It means I don't have to get annoyed about not having the car when I need it. And it isn't that the oil change takes so long... it's the fact that when changing the oil you think it's a good time to rotate the tires, take apart the engine, etc... it's everything that happens when a simple request is made.
My mom asks my dad to wash the dog. (She hates the dog but will do the chores with the dog when my dad gets lazy and doesn't.) He will wash the dog but leave the buckets, towels, hose, etc all over the driveway... She then has to spend as much time cleaning as if she had just done it herself!
And now to school. Late!
