Fact of the day

1 in 4 babies born in the US today are born with a C-section. This is the medicalization of birth. It's also the insurance companies making medical decisions.

Ha I agree to an extent, but sometimes it is necessary. I had one and plan on having one with our second baby. I have medical issues and for my safety, its better to have a c section. But I see your point and also look into the fact that you are now given the choice of having one and some women for reasons of their own choose to have one.... Interesting post...

It does save lives, no questions about that, but I wonder sometimes if we haven't turned having a baby into something equivilent of undergoing major surgury. I'm a LONG ways away from having any children of my own, but when I do, I'll look into all the current research before making my choice. I tend to lean towards the good old fashion method just because that's how we've been doing it for thousands of years. But if a medical reason comes up, or research changes, then my mind can change as well.
